Educational and Professional Milestones Missed Due to Mental Illness
In a 2008 National Institutes of Health (NIH) study, mental disorders were shown to significantly influence termination of schooling prior to completion of four educational milestones: primary school graduation, high school graduation, college entry, and college graduation.
The implications are clear, mental health issues can negatively impact educational attainment. And in recent years, billions of dollars in lost workplace productivity has been directly linked to unresolved mental health issues.

It’s OK to ask for help. Mental health and substance abuse have no age connected to them. Children, young adults, older adults, and even seniors deal with these challenges daily. When you walk outside you want to feel the warmth of the sun, the smell of fresh air, the sounds of birds chirping, or the wind blowing through the trees. You are able to enjoy life again. You are able to live again!
